J's class had a field trip to Paradise Park last week and W played hooky to come along. The scheduled play-doh, cooking, and sensory experiences were OK but the boys could have spent hours in the ball pit. After most of the class left on the bus to return to school, we stayed in the balls with his girlfriends Bella and Vivianna. Bella is his BFF at school so this was really fun for them.
The funniest thing to me was that you had to wash your hands before touching the play-doh, after the play-doh, before "cooking" which was immediately after play-doh, and after cooking but there was not a drop of soap or purell anywhere near the dirty ball pit. That is especially lovely for a boy with an oral sensory issue who ALWAYS has his hands in his mouth.
I love that CCVI does so many field trips for their kiddos.
